I'm gonna be growing both flowers and veggies from seed, but I get more gung-ho about the veggies. :p I'm growing more than a few varieties this year, but these are what I'm most excited for!

Tomatoes: Pineapple, Gold Medal (grew it last year, mmmmm), Sub Arctic Maxi, Wonder light, Blondkopfchen (wonderful in taste and volume!)

Anyone have experience with starting Asparagus from seed? I have some Jersey Giant seeds, and I've been googling, but found contradictory info. Some say to start the seeds in late fall, others say to start in the spring... I'm kinda confused, all in all ( Read more... )

My fall bulbs have started to come in, and with the iris and Colchicum came bulbs for Crocus Sativus - the Saffron Crocus! I'm in zone 4, so I've planted them in a container so I can take them in when it gets too cold for them. I'm so excited; hope they come up soon, as they're fall-blooming. A couple of months or so ago I bought 2 citrus plants, a Kaffir lime & a Meyer lemon.

The lime seems to be doing well, it has grown quite a few new leaves. My only worry is that I found some mealybugs (I think) on it, only a few at a time. Each time I find them I pick them off. Is there something more I can do to get rid of them or is this my best ( Read more... )
